In the suit filed earlier this week in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, the world's biggest slot maker accuses Alliance of infringing on six IGT patents covering slots and systems featuring bonus wheels and touch-screen display devices. Also named in the suit Tuesday were Alliance subsidiaries Bally Gaming and Bally Gaming International. "IGT has always vigorously defended its intellectual property," said Dave Johnson, general counsel for IGT. "Consistent with that philosophy, we have filed this case to stop defendants from misappropriating IGT's patented innovations." Index Hyperion Files Patent Infringement Action Against OutlookSoft http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/index.jsp?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20041210005359&newsLang=en Hyperion Solutions (Nasdaq:HYSL), the global leader in Business Performance Management software, announced today that it has filed a Federal court action against OutlookSoft Corporation, charging that OutlookSoft is infringing two Hyperion patents relating to its financial consolidation, reporting and analysis applications, Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Enterprise. Hyperion is asking for damages for past infringement, including treble damages for willful infringement, and an injunction against further infringement. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Index Chase Medical Files Patent Infringement Suit against CHF Technologies http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/index.jsp?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20041208005459&newsLang=en Chase Medical, Inc., a Dallas company specializing in products for the treatment of cardiovascular disease, today announced that it had filed a patent infringement lawsuit against CHF Technologies, Inc. and Endoscopic Technologies, Inc. (also known as Estech). The lawsuit alleges that products/methods related to the "Blue Egg" left ventricular restoration products infringe, induce others to infringe, and/or contributorily infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent No. 6,681,773 (the "'773 Patent"). The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Dallas. The '773 patent relates to products and methods for treating congestive heart failure. Chase Medical's Vice President of Research and Development, Suresh Reddy, stated: "Our company was the first to develop the technology described in our '773 patent. This patent, along with other patents/patent applications owned by Chase Medical, protect valuable TRISVR(TM) technology that is now being used by a growing number of professionals.
